Bakker and Son build their loft with pure Van der Wegen pigeons. They made furor on the morning released Marathon races (ZLU) and became two times National Winner of Perpignan in the year 1994 and 2010. They also won National Pau in 1992.

Strain:
The strain composed by Dirk Bakker and son has been built up by a number of direct Van der Wegen pigeons. In 1987 ten couples of eggs were bought from Anton and Lucie van der Wegen (Steenbergen). These pigeons were paired to De Rooie which was brought in by grandfather Bakker.
The Rooie formed a true solid breeding pair with De War which was a direct product of De 500 x Daughter Fondman I, so a pure Van der Wegen hen.

Breeders
De Rooie Dik staat aan de basis van een succesvolle lijn waaruit onder andere de 13e Nationaal DAX ZLU
(2005) stamt. Hij is grootvader van De Nieuwe Peggy 210 en De Nieuwe Peggy 211.
